CPA: Cost Per Acquisition. The amount of marketing dollars spent to convert a sale. What is your CPA?

CPM: Cost Per 1000 impressions. The M in CPM is the roman numeral for 1000. This term is assocciated with online media buying and banner advertising. What is the cost for every 1000 impressions to my ad? What is the CPM?

CR-V: Popular sport utility vehicle made by Honda.
CTR: Click Through Rate. How many exposures your ad receives compared to the amount of click through generated. Example: If 100 impressions are received, and 3 clicks are generated, the CTR is 3%.

Impression: When a website is exposed to your browser an impression is made. For example, when you conduct a Google search, all of the results visible on the page have been impressed on you. Impressions can measure online brand awareness.

Index: The Google index has over (9) billion web pages in it. The index can be seen as where Google stores all of the information after the spider (robot) indexes a website.

Keywords: Words that are entered into a search engine or search bar.

Keyword Research: Research of keyword markets. What do people type in to find you?

Link Popularity: How many websites have links pointing to your website.

Link Web: A link web is the grand picture of website linking into a target website.

Meta-Tags: A Meta-tag is HTML code found on web pages that help describe the web pages purpose to search engines.

PPC: Pay Per Click. Also known as sponsored links. When an advertiser pays a dollar amount every time their ad is clicked.
PR: AKA Page Rank. AKA Google PR. Google's measure of importance of a webpage. Google issues each webpage that is part of its index a measurement based on a scale from 1 to 10. 1 being low and 10 being high. 1Degree has a PR4, Lexus.com has a PR7.

SEM: Search Engine Marketing.

SEO: Search Engine Optimization.

SEO Content Writing: Writing content to match keywords found in Meta-tags. Optimizing content to have a higher keyword relevancy than the websites that you are competing against.

Spider (Robot): AKA search engine spider. Search engines use spiders to identify key elements within a website to measure where it will rank in a keyword search result listing. Spiders also follow link webs.
